Satan Exposed : Part 2

A few years ago, as I was leaving the Middle East (which borders Africa), I felt sad that Africa is faced with so much poverty, and their neighbours are basking in wealth that they don't know what to do with. And yet, Africa is probably the richest continent on the planet. Why is this so? Because the enemy came in and stole, killed, and destroyed, and continues to do so. But the Bible describes this as the work of Satan. He is like a thief who 'comes only to steal and kill and destroy'.

Sometimes, we can feel like things in our lives have been taken away and destroyed. Maybe it's a dream we once had, a relationship that's gone wrong, or a feeling of hope for the future has vanished. But the truth is, we've got God on our side, and Satan and his folk can't win. I believe God can restore the things that have been taken away, and we can strengthen ourselves in Him to avoid anything more being taken. James 4 says: 'Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you'. I also believe that Africa is still one of the most spiritually rich places on Earth, and that's where their victory lies - in the hope of a God that will come and make all things right.

Remember, resisting the devil is easier said than done when we're under attack. But stay faithful and focused on a God that will restore, and ultimately come and take care of the enemy and his folk. How do I resist the devil today? Prayer is a great way. But we can also prepare ourselves beforehand, so that when we face attacks, we're ready to resist Satan. Keeping connected to God is one way of strengthening ourselves, especially by reading His Word, and being able to declare His truth over ourselves and our family.

Today, I encourage you to put on the armour of God. 'Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes'. From the belt of truth to the helmet of salvation, God's armour can help us withstand the enemy's attacks. The Message translation puts it like this: 'Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued so that when it's all over you'll still be on your feet' (Ephesians 6:13). Hallelujah!

'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' James 4:7 NIV.

Let's Pray

Yahweh, I bless You for Your hope that brings joy to my heart, that despite what has been stolen and destroyed, You have promised to return all that the enemy has taken. Father, I pray for the strength to keep on pressing forwards no matter what. God, please, I beg You, to remove poverty and restore wealth and health to all Your people. Today, I choose to not move without all of Your armour, so I will be able to stand. In Jesus' name! Amen.
